Palianytsia with potatoes and herbs: a recipe for a hearty snack
The most popular type of bakery product, palianytsia, can be eaten instead of bread and various rolls. The dough for palianytsia is made mostly with water, milk, sour cream, or kefir. You can also make a dish with a filling: cheese, minced meat, meat, potatoes, or vegetables, or do without it.
Food blogger Emilia Yevtushenko (emiliya.yevtushenko) shared a recipe for hearty buns with potatoes and herbs on her Instagram page.
Ingredients for 6 large pieces:
- flour - 850-960 g
- kefir - 500 g
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp.
The filling:
- potatoes - 500 g
- butter - 50 g
- dill
- onion
Method of preparation:
1. First, prepare the filling. To do this, peel and chop the potatoes, and boil them in salted water.
2. At the same time, chop and fry the onion.
3. Drain the cooked potatoes, add the butter, chopped dill, salt, and fried onions. Mix everything thoroughly until smooth.
4. Next, prepare the dough. To do this, mix kefir, baking soda, salt and flour. Knead the soft dough.
5. Divide the finished dough into 6 parts. Wrap the filling in each of them. Form a ball and roll it out thinly.
6. Fry the flatbreads in a dry frying pan on both sides until golden brown. When ready, brush generously with butter. It's ready!
