Not only pickled: how to make a budget mackerel spread on bread

Mackerel is a very tasty, budget-friendly, and quite versatile fish that is often baked in the oven, fried, or marinated. In addition, mackerel can be used to make an extremely tasty and satisfying spread for bread and sandwiches.
Food blogger Kateryna Kudliak (recepty_przepisy) shared a recipe for a delicious and budget-friendly mackerel spread on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- hot smoked mackerel – 300 g
- boiled eggs – 4 pcs
- pickled cucumbers – 3 pcs
- purple onions – 1/2 pc
- green onions – 1 bunch
- salt, pepper
- mustard – 1 tsp
- natural yogurt – 1 tbsp
- mayonnaise – 1 tbsp
Method of preparation:
1. Peel the fish from the skin and bones. Mash with a fork.
2. Chop cucumbers, onions and eggs. Add to the fish.
3. Chop and add green onions. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Add mustard, mayonnaise, and yogurt. Mix well.
5. Spread croutons or bread. If desired, you can put a fresh or pickled cucumber on top of the sandwich, or sprinkle with green onions.
