Not just fast food: how to make a nutritious shawarma salad

Traditional shawarma is a pita bread wrapped in a delicious filling of meat and vegetables. A sauce is also added. But in order not to spend a lot of time on forming it, you can make the dish in the form of a salad.

The idea of making a shawarma salad with pita bread was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Ivanna with the nickname ivanka family. The dish is very juicy.

Ingredients:

  • boiled chicken fillet - 300 g
  • cherry tomatoes - 200 g
  • bell pepper - 1 pc.
  • pickled cucumbers - 3 pcs.
  • Korean carrots - 150 g
  • canned corn - 1 can
  • lettuce leaves - 200 g
  • mayonnaise - 3 tbsp
  • mustard in grains - 1 tbsp
  • dried pieces of pita bread

Method of preparation:

1. First, boil the chicken fillet in salted water until tender.

2. Cut the tomatoes into halves. Cut pickles and peppers into strips.

3. Dice the chicken and chop the lettuce leaves.

4. Combine the chopped ingredients in a deep bowl.

5. Add carrots and corn to them and season with the sauce (mix mayonnaise and mustard).

6. Stir the salad.

7. Put on a plate and add the pita bread dried in a dry frying pan.
