New York cheesecake with cherries: sharing the secrets of a successful dessert
Cheesecake is one of the most delicious, flavorful, and very delicate desserts. There are a lot of recipes for this dessert, and it can be made with different fillings, as well as with salted caramel, fruit, and jam.
The FoodOboz editorial team has selected a recipe for a delicious New York cheesecake with cherries for tea drinking, which was published in the Facebook group Delicious Food-Culinary Recipes for Every Day.
For the dough:
- Chocolate or vanilla graham crackers – 240 g
- Butter (melted) – 8 tbsp
- Granulated sugar – 1/2 cup
- Salt – 1/4 tsp
For the filling:
- Cream cheese – 240 g
- Granulated sugar – 3/4 cup
- Flour – 3 tablespoons
- Lemon (zest) – 1 tsp
- Orange (zest) – 1 tsp
- Egg – 5 pcs
- Large egg yolks – 2 pcs
- Vanilla – 1/2 tsp
For the top:
- Sweet or sour pitted cherries – 300 g
- Lemon (juice) – 2 tbsp.
- Granulated sugar – 1/4 cup
- Starch – 1 tbsp
- Water – 1/2 cup
Method of preparation:
1. Grind the crackers to fine crumbs, mix well, add the melted butter, sugar, and salt.
2. Preheat the oven to 200 C.
3. Filling: beat eggs with cottage cheese, add sugar, flour and zest, vanilla, eggs, and yolks, and beat on low speed.
4. Grease a baking dish with butter, put the finished mass in the freezer to freeze, and put the filling in the oven for 12 minutes.
Be sure to reduce the temperature to 95°C and bake for another 1 hour.
5. Topping: Place all the ingredients together in a medium saucepan, bring to a boil, and cook for 1-2 minutes. Then remove from heat and let cool.
6. Put the finished cheesecake on a large platter, top with the cherry filling, and serve a delicious dessert.
