"Napoleon" is a delicious cake, without which it is difficult to imagine any celebration or tea party. It is very tasty, tender and just melts in your mouth, if you cook it properly, of course.

Today, FoodOboz editorial team shares with you the story of the origin of this exquisite and simple cake, as well as the simplest recipe to make it at home.

The history of the Napoleon cake

According to French history, the emperor's famous pastry chef, wanting to please Bonaparte, simply invented a new dessert. He bought the then-popular Royal Galette cake, cut it into cakes, and spread it with just custard.

But there is also another story that says this cake has nothing to do with Bonaparte, and it was created in the time of Napoleon III.

It's worth noting that it is still made in France today, and is called "Millefeuille" ("thousand layers").
