Moldovan plachinda with cottage cheese and herbs

Plachinda is a special kind of flatbread with hard cheese, apples, cabbage, or pumpkin. It is an extremely tasty dish that is easy to prepare at home.

The recipe for Moldovan plachinda with cottage cheese and herbs was shared by food blogger Svitlana (curly_moldova) on her Instagram page.

Ingredients:

Dough:

  • flour - 500 g
  • warm water - 300 ml
  • vegetable oil - 2 tbsp
  • vinegar - 2 tbsp
  • salt - 1 tsp

The filling:

  • cottage cheese - 500 g
  • eggs - 1 pc
  • green onions - 1 bunch
  • salt

Method of preparation:

1. Prepare the dough. Sift the flour into a bowl. Make a well in the middle and pour in the vegetable oil and vinegar.

2. Add salt and pour warm water while stirring. Knead a soft and elastic dough. If necessary, add a little more flour. Cover the dough and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.

3. Divide the dough into 8 parts and form balls.

4. Roll out each ball and brush with vegetable oil.

5. Put the filling in the middle.

6. Pinch the opposite parts of the sides, overlapping. After that, pull back each side of the resulting square, direct to the center and pinch again.

7. Fry on both sides.
