Marshmallows for children – the easiest way to make safe sweets
If you want your child to avoid eating unhealthy sweets, the best thing to do is to make them yourself from natural products. This way, you can be sure of their safety, and you can make them from seasonal fruits, nuts, fragrant honey, and seeds.
Today, FoodOboz editorial team shares with you a recipe for one of the most favorite children's treats – airy marshmallows, which, by the way, you can easily make with your child.
It is worth noting that it can be used as an independent dish and as an addition and decoration for cakes, coffee, cocoa, and cocktails.
Ingredients:
- sugar - 400 g
- invert syrup - 150 g
- gelatin - 30 g
- water - 200 ml
- vanilla - to taste
- corn starch - 50 g
- powdered sugar - 50 g
Method of preparation:
- First, prepare silicone molds to pour the marshmallows into, wash and dry them well.
- In a large bowl, soak the gelatin, cover it with water so that it swells well, and leave it for 30 minutes.
- Make sugar syrup in a saucepan: mix sugar with water and add inverted syrup, mix everything thoroughly and bring to a boil, stirring constantly to prevent the sugar from burning. Be sure to boil for 2-3 minutes.
- Take the gelatin and heat it well in a water bath or in the microwave until it dissolves completely.
- Then pass it through a sieve.
- Add the resulting gelatin mixture to the syrup and whisk well until a thick foam appears.
- Immediately pour it into molds and refrigerate for 3-4 hours to thicken well.
- After the time has elapsed, remove the marshmallows from the molds, sprinkle them with powdered sugar, and eat.
