Mackerel with potatoes: how to cook a delicious dish from simple ingredients

Here is a recipe for mackerel with potatoes. The result is a dish that is ideal for a light dinner or a delicious lunch, and does not fill the kitchen with a terrible fish flavor.

The recipe for this dish was shared by food blogger Natalia Zhuk. On Instagram, she explained how to cook mackerel so that it loses its specific flavor.

Ingredients:

  • Mackerel - 2 pieces
  • Potatoes boiled in salted water - 700 g
  • Onion - 1 pc
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Provencal herbs
  • Sour cream - 100 g
  • Grainy mustard - 1 tbsp
  • Honey - 1 tbsp
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Method of preparation:

1. Divide the mackerel into fillets and make diamond-shaped cuts on the skin side like on a mango. Add salt.

2. Prepare the sauce. Add mustard, oil, honey, salt and pepper to the sour cream. Mix well.

3. Put the potatoes boiled in salted water on a baking sheet covered with parchment.

4. Top with onion, sliced in half rings, and cherry tomatoes, cut in half and sprinkle with Provencal herbs.

5. Put the fish and cover with the sauce.

6. Bake for 20 minutes at 200 degrees.
