Low-fat and crispy brushwood cookies: what to add to the dough
Sweet brushwood cookies is a very simple dessert that many children love. But after frying, the products should be crispy and not greasy. To do this, you need to add one simple ingredient to the dough.
The idea of making crispy and non-greasy brushwood cookies was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Kateryna Kudliak (recepty_przepisy). According to this technique, you need to add vodka to the dough.
Ingredients for the dough:
- 500 g flour
- 1 tbsp of icing sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 6 egg yolks
- 1 cup of sour cream (200 ml)
- 2 tbsp of vodka
For the topping:
- Powdered sugar
Method of preparation:
1. Add the powdered sugar and salt to the flour and mix.
2. Add the egg yolks, sour cream, vodka, and stir with a spoon.
3. After that, knead for another 5 minutes on a worktable, wrap the dough in plastic wrap, and leave for 20 minutes.
4. Divide into two parts.
5. Roll out into a circle, about 1 mm thick.
6. Cut into strips and make cuts to form crisps. Fry in a large amount of oil until golden brown.
7. Then transfer to a paper towel to remove excess oil. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
