Liver pate with a secret ingredient: what to add for a bright flavor
Liver is a versatile product that can be combined with many different ingredients. If you beat everything in a blender, you get a tasty and healthy pate that can be spread on bread. In addition to traditional vegetables, you should add cranberries to this dish. This berry has a lot of vitamins and a pleasant sourness that will go well with meat.
The idea of cooking liver pate with cranberries was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Yevhenia Karpiuk. To keep the pate in a jar for a long time, you need to pour butter on top.
Ingredients:
- chicken liver - 500 g
- carrot - 1 pc.
- caramelized onions - 2 tbsp
- cranberries - 0.5 cups
- salt, pepper
- a little oil
- butter - 50 g
Method of preparation:
1. Fry grated carrots in a mixture of oil and butter.
2. Add washed liver, salt, pepper, and cranberries. Immediately cover with water or broth.
3. When the liver is almost ready (about 10-15 minutes), add caramelized onions. Cook for a few more minutes.
4. Beat this mass well with a blender. You can regulate the flavor with spices.
5. If you are going to store jars for several days, they should be filled with melted butter as this extends the shelf life.
