Lazy Shuba salad served in eggs: how to prepare the usual dish in a new way
Shuba salad is a very simple, budget-friendly and tasty dish that is considered a winter dish because it is more satisfying than light vegetable salads. In the classic version, the salad is made with herring, beets, potatoes, and seasoned with mayonnaise. But if you want to prepare it in a new way, you can replace herring with salmon or mackerel, add eggs and use yogurt instead of mayonnaise.
Cook Olha Matviy shared a recipe for an unusual lazy Fur Coat salad served in eggs on her YouTube channel.
Ingredients:
- eggs - 8-10 pcs.
- beets - 2 pcs.
- onion - 1 pc.
- herring - 1 pc.
- mayonnaise - 200 g
- garlic - 3 cloves.
- salt, pepper - to taste
- greens - a bunch
- water - 50 ml
- 9% vinegar - 50 ml
- oil - 1 tbsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Bake the beetroot, peel and grate on a coarse grater, add oil and salt and mix.
2. Chop the onion very finely or beat it in a blender. Put in a bowl, add water and vinegar, and leave to marinate. Then drain the liquid and squeeze. Add to the beets.
3. Boil the eggs, cut them in half, and separate the yolks from the whites. Put the white halves on a dish, mash the yolks with a fork and add to the beets. Add chopped herbs and garlic.
4. Finely chop the herring fillet, add to the total mass, and mix.
5. Add the mayonnaise at the very end, season with salt and pepper and stuff the whites. Put the herring slices on top and garnish with dill to taste.
