Delicious homemade "Napoleon"

One of the most delicious, lightest, and easiest to prepare cakes that can be prepared in different ways is "Napoleon". The dessert cream can be made with different flavors by simply adding berries or vanilla. It's worth noting that the cake base doesn't have to be baked, replacing it with plain pita bread, but this is more suitable for a salty "Napoleon".

Cook Olha Holovina shared on Instagram a recipe for a delicious "Napoleon" cake that doesn't require any cakes.

Ingredients:

  • puff pastry without yeast – 700 g
  • milk – 1 liter
  • sugar – 200 g (adjust to taste)
  • flour – 70 g
  • butter – 70-80 g
  • 4 eggs

Method of preparation:

1. Cut the puff pastry into squares, place on parchment, and bake for 20 minutes at 180 C until fully cooked. Transfer to a bowl and let it cool completely. Then divide into smaller pieces.

2. Cream: pour the milk into a saucepan, add the sugar, and mix well with a whisk.

3. Beat the eggs and flour separately.

4. Heat the milk well and pour in the eggs and flour in a thin stream, mix well, and cook until thickened over low heat.

5. When the cream thickens, remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Then add the butter and mix well.

6. Chill the cream, pour it over the cookies, mix and put the mixture in a split mold, and leave it in the refrigerator for at least 5 hours.

7. Blend the rest of the dough in a blender and sprinkle over the finished cake.
