Lazy khachapuri on kefir: cooked in a skillet

If you want a hearty and budget-friendly snack, you can make delicious lazy khachapuri. You don't need an oven for this dish, because it's cooked in a frying pan. The technology is very simple and will not take much time.

The idea of making lazy khachapuri in a frying pan was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Tetiana Yushyna.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of kefir
  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • a pinch of salt
  • a pinch of sugar
  • 0.5 tsp of baking soda
  • 300 g of flour

For the filling:

  • 150 g cottage cheese
  • 150 g of suluguni
  • half a bunch of dill or other herbs (parsley, cilantro)

Method of preparation:

1. Add oil, salt and sugar to the kefir.

2. Mix the flour with baking soda, add to the kefir, and knead a soft dough.

3. Cover and set aside while preparing the filling.

4. To do this, grate the cheese, chop the herbs, and mix it with the cottage cheese.

5. Divide the dough into 4 parts.

6. Make a ball out of each and roll it out thinly.

7. Put the filling in the center, gather the edges to the center, and pinch.

8. Dust with flour and roll out to a diameter of 22-24 cm.

9. Heat a small amount of oil in a frying pan, and put khachapuri.

10. Fry under the lid on both sides over medium heat until tender.
