Lazy cabbage rolls Ingredients:

  • Rice - 125 g
  • Water - 250 ml
  • Onion - 1 pc
  • Carrots - 1 pc
  • Butter - 50-70 g
  • White cabbage - 1/2 pc
  • Minced meat - 500 g
  • Coriander - 1/2 tsp
  • Tomatoes - 400 g
  • Sour cream - 200 g
  • Oil - 2-3 tbsp.
  • Salt, pepper - to taste

Method of preparation:

  1. Pour water over the rice and put it on the fire. Bring to a boil and cook for another 5 minutes. Leave to cool for 15 minutes.
  2. Dice the onion. Grate the carrots. Shred the cabbage.
  3. Melt the butter in a frying pan. Add the onion to the pan. Add the carrots and simmer for a few minutes. Add the cabbage and simmer for another 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. In a large bowl, mix rice, minced meat and roast. Add the coriander.
  5. Form lazy cabbage rolls into cutlets. Put them on a baking sheet, pre-greased with oil.
  6. Prepare the gravy. To do this, chop the tomatoes and mix them with sour cream. Add salt and pepper. Pour the resulting mama on top of the cabbage rolls.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes at 180 degrees.

The secrets of lazy cabbage rolls

  • To make the cabbage softer, you can freeze it overnight. After that, it will look like cooked cabbage.
  • For juiciness, it is best to add lard or any other fat to the minced meat.
  • Some housewives often use buckwheat or barley instead of rice, and mushrooms instead of minced meat. It turns out to be a kind of lean version.
  • You can also add one raw egg to the finished rice to emphasize the flavor. It will also help the cabbage rolls keep their shape better.
