Lazy apple pie made from pita bread: an elementary pastry recipe

Apple pie made of pita bread is an ideal option for when you don't have time and desire to work with dough. In addition to the juicy filling of apples and cottage cheese, a special sour cream filling is used, which perfectly soaks the pita sheets, making them tender and soft.

Food blogger Yuliia Fedorenko with the nickname fedorenko_pp shared a recipe for apple pie with pita bread on her Instagram page.

Ingredients:

  • pita bread – 125 g
  • cottage cheese 5% – 360 g
  • apples – 300 g
  • eggs – 3 pcs
  • sour cream 10% – 200 g
  • sugar, cinnamon (optional)

Method of preparation:

1. Apples grate on a grater.

2. Mix grated apples, cottage cheese, sugar and cinnamon. Mix until smooth. This will be the pie filling.

3. Mix eggs, sour cream, and sweetener separately. Mix until smooth. This will be the pie filling.

4. Cut the pita bread into strips.

5. Spread the filling along the entire length of each strip and roll it into a roll. Put the roll in a circle-shaped baking dish covered with parchment. Do this with all strips of pita bread.

6. Finally, pour the pie with the filling.

7. Bake at 180 degrees for 40-50 minutes.
