Korean-style cabbage: recipe for a healthy spicy appetizer for winter
White cabbage is the main ingredient in borscht, cabbage rolls, and salads. It can also be salted for the winter, as well as made into delicious salads and spicy snacks.
The FoodOboz editorial team shares a recipe for Korean-style cabbage with beets and spices, which will turn out to be moderately spicy.
Ingredients:
- cabbage - 1.5-2 kg.
- water - 1 liter
- beets - 2 pcs.
- garlic - 5-7 cloves.
- peppercorns - 6-7 pcs.
- salt - 2 tbsp.
- sugar - 100 g
- sunflower oil - 100 g
- hot ground pepper - to taste
- vinegar 9% - 150 g
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the cabbage into small square pieces.
2. Grate the beets on a coarse grater and cut the garlic in half.
3. For the marinade, add oil and all the spices to a saucepan with water, stir and bring to a boil. Then remove from heat and add vinegar. Bring to a boil again and turn off.
4. Pour the prepared marinade over the cabbage, and be sure to place a bowl and some weight on top of the cabbage. Leave the cabbage to marinate for 3 days at room temperature. And then put it in the refrigerator for another day.
Such cabbage can be preserved by putting it in sterilized jars.
