Khachapuri from phyllo dough: lazy recipe for every day

Khachapuri is a traditional Georgian pastry with cheese filling made of yeast dough. Its flavor is so amazing that the dish has gained popularity in many countries around the world, including Ukraine. It is perfect as a main course.

But if you have no desire to work with dough for a long time, you can also use a simplified recipe for making khachapuri. Foodblogger with the nickname iriska_dimitrova in Instagram told how to make khachapuri from phyllo dough.

Ingredients

  • Filo dough - 7 sheets
  • Suguluni cheese - 200 gr
  • Egg - 1 pc
  • Salt
  • Milk - 100 ml
  • Butter - 30 g
  • Butter for frying

Method of preparation

1. Prepare the filling. beat the egg with salt, add milk and butter, mix until homogeneous.

2. grease a cold frying pan with oil (about 1 - 2 tbsp).

3. Crosswise lay out 6 sheets of phyllo dough and brush each with filling about 2 tbsp. each.

4. Dip edges of 6th sheet, grease and spread half of the grated cheese.

5. Cover with the 7th sheet, grease it, wrap the edges, grease again, and spread the other half of the cheese.

6. Next, alternately dip all the edges, smearing each layer with egg and milk mixture. The top layer does not need to be greased, it should remain dry.

7 . Cover with a lid and cook for about 4-5 minutes on low heat until golden.

8. Add a little more oil to the skillet, cook on the other side under a lid until golden. Cut into portioned pieces and enjoy.
