Kebabs with pickled onions in the oven: when you can't go outdoors

A lot of people just love kebabs and can't wait to go outdoors to taste the flavorful and juicy meat with smoke. But what if you can't grill meat outdoors?

You can try cooking kebab in the oven. With the right approach to this matter, you won't even notice the difference, and all your gastronomic whims will be fully realized. A food blogger with the nickname zhuravlina_cooking shared a recipe for cooking kebabs in the oven on Instagram.

Ingredients

  • Pork neck - 1.5 kg
  • Barbecue spices - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - 1 tsp
  • Black pepper - ½ tsp.
  • Smoked paprika - 1 tsp.
  • Mustard - 1 tbsp
  • Onions - 5-6 pieces
  • Boiled water
  • Oil - 20 ml
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp
  • Vinegar - 70-80 ml

Method of preparation

1.Cut the onion into half rings, put it in a deep bowl and mash well with your hands.

2. Add vinegar and sugar and cover with water to cover the onion completely. Stir and leave to marinate for at least an hour.

3. Cut the meat into large pieces and add the barbecue spices, salt, smoked paprika, mustard, pepper, mix everything well with the spices and mash the meat with your hands.

4. Soak the skewers in water for 15-20 minutes (so that they do not burn and the meat is well strung).

5. Drain the onion through a sieve, add the oil, mix everything and put it in a baking sleeve, smooth it out.

6. Put the meat on skewers and put it on the onion in the sleeve. Tie the sleeve. Put in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 2 hours.

7. Put the blanks on a mold or baking sheet and send them to the oven, preheated to 180 degrees for 1 hour, then cut the sleeve 30 minutes before they are ready and finish baking.
