Just berries and sugar: how to make sweet cherries in your own juice for the winter

Instead of making jam from seasonal sweet cherries, you can preserve the berries in their own juice. It will be much faster and tastier. This preparation can be used for various fillings and desserts. The berries will be perfectly stored throughout the winter.

The idea of cooking sweet cherries in their own juice for the winter is published on the Instagram page of food blogger Inna Kluchnik (innakluchnik31). All you need is berries and sugar.

Ingredients:

  • pitted cherries - 3 kg.
  • sugar - 1 kg.

Method of preparation:

1. Rinse the cherries well and remove the seeds.

2. Put the sweet cherries in a large bowl.

3. Add sugar.

4. Stir a little.

5. Leave for 30-60 minutes at room temperature to let the berries juice.

6. After the sweet cherries have released their juice, put them on the fire.

7. Bring to a boil and cook for 15 minutes.

8. Put into clean and dry jars. There should be more cherries and less syrup.

9. Roll up, turn over for several hours. Store in a cool place.
