Juicy and flavorful pork belly: how to properly bake meat in the oven
Pork belly is an extremely tasty appetizer that can be cooked in brine, marinated, boiled, or simply baked in the oven. It has a good combination of meat and bacon, which makes it fully reveal its flavor.
Food blogger Yulia Simonchuk (cook_julia_simonchuk) shared a recipe for baked underbelly with garlic, mustard, and spices on her Instagram page. The dish is cooked in a sleeve, which makes the pork very flavorful and soft.
Ingredients:
- underbelly - 1 kg
- mixture of Italian herbs - 2 tsp.
- salt - 2 tsp
- garlic - 5-7 cloves
- mustard - 2 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Make cuts in the pork belly, in each of which stick the garlic.
2. Mix salt, Italian herbs and mustard. Rub the pork with the resulting mass on all sides, and put the spices in the cuts.
3. Put the pork belly into the baking sleeve. Bake at 190 degrees for 1.5 hours.
4. Cool the prepared pork belly in the oven, then put it in the refrigerator for several hours.
5. Cut the pork belly into pieces and serve with mustard.
