It can often be found in picturesque Italian coffee shops or tasted at the homes of locals. Food blogger Eduard Nasirov shared on Instagram how to make homemade Torta moka so that it tastes as good as an expensive restaurant.

Ingredients for a 24 cm baking dish

  • Soft butter – 150 gr
  • Sugar – 180 gr
  • Flour – 120 gr
  • Starch – 80 gr
  • Espresso – 100 ml
  • Eggs – 4 pcs
  • Baking powder – 1 tsp
  • Vanilla sugar – 1 tsp

Ingredients for the glaze

  • Powdered sugar – 250 gr
  • Cocoa – 25 gr
  • Cold water – 4-5 tbsp

Method of preparation

1. Beat sugar and butter in a bowl, add one egg at a time, mixing well each time.

2. Add flour and starch mixed with baking powder in parts.

3. Pour in the coffee and add the vanilla, knead the dough into a smooth dough.

4. Put the dough into a parchment-lined mold and put it in a preheated 180C oven for 40 minutes.

5. For the glaze, mix all the ingredients, gradually adding water, until you get a smooth mixture with the consistency of sour cream.

6. Spread the icing on the cupcake, let it stand for an hour.
