Instead of bread: hearty cabbage pie with corn flour in 20 minutes

Pie is a versatile dish that can be made with different doughs, even with just pita bread. The same applies to fillings, which can be made from vegetables, meat, fish, mushrooms, seafood, berries, and fruits.

Nutrition expert Lana Fore has shared a recipe for a delicious cabbage pie with hard cheese and spices, which is a great alternative to bread, on her website.

Ingredients

  • cabbage - 250 g
  • green onions - 2 stalks
  • eggs - 2 pcs
  • corn flour - 80 g
  • natural yogurt - 100 g
  • hard sharp cheese - 20 g
  • cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp.

Method of preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

2. Wash the cabbage and remove the top leaves.

3. Chop the cabbage, add salt, and mix thoroughly with your hands.

4. Wash and finely chop the parsley and onion and add to the cabbage. Mix again.

5. Beat the eggs with salt, add the yogurt, and mix.

6. Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl, add salt and ground cumin, and stir well to make the batter look like thick sour cream.

7. Pour the prepared cabbage into the bowl with the batter and mix thoroughly.

8. Grease a baking dish with oil or simply cover it with parchment, pour the batter into it and sprinkle grated cheese and cumin seeds on top.

9. Bake at 180 C for 20-30 minutes.

Remove from the oven, let it cool, take it out of the mold and cut it. It will be delicious with soup or broth.
