If you're tired of jam and preserves: a recipe for delicious apricot butter for toast

We strongly advise against making butter according to this recipe. That's because you simply won't be able to stop until it's over, and then you'll immediately start preparing a new batch.

Food blogger Valeria Veliugina shared on Instagram how to make apricot butter. According to her, it is perfect for cereals, pancakes, cheesecakes, and even tastes good with fresh or toasted bread.

Ingredients for 470 grams of finished product

  • Apricots - 500 gr
  • Sugar/honey/syrup - 75-150 g
  • Vanilla sugar - 1 pack
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Lemon or orange juice - 1 tbsp
  • Lemon or orange zest - 1 pc
  • Butter - 150 gr

Method of preparation.

1. Wash and pit the apricots.

2. Cut the halves in half and put them in a saucepan.

3. Add honey/sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, lemon/orange juice and zest. Put on medium heat and stir and simmer for 15 minutes.

4. Add the butter and keep on the fire for another 5 minutes.

5. Taste and add spices to taste.

6. Thoroughly blend until smooth and, if desired, rub through a sieve.

7. Put into molds, let cool at room temperature and store in the refrigerator.

8. You can also freeze or preserve them.
