Chef and MasterChef winner Eleonora Baranova shared the basic rules for storing potatoes.
In an exclusive commentary for OBOZREVATEL, the expert told us how to protect potatoes from sprouting.
The chef outlines the following rules for storing potatoes:
- The vegetable is best stored in boxes and covered with burlap.
- The storage area should be cold and dark. Compliance with the heat and light conditions prevents the production of solanine, which is toxic to the human body.
- Periodically, it is necessary to sort out rotten potatoes.
The expert also shared a life hack that will help protect potatoes from sprouting. She says she learned it from her grandmother.
Baked potatoes with bacon according to the recipe of Yevhen Klopotenko, which he shared on his YouTube channel
Ingredients:
- Potatoes – 4 pcs.
- Lard – 150 g
- Garlic seasoning
- Seasoning hops-suneli
- Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
- Juice of 1/4 lemon
- Salt
- Pepper
Method of preparation:
- Wash the potatoes thoroughly. Cook them for about 15-20 minutes over medium heat.
- Cut the bacon into cubes.
- Fry it in a frying pan. Add salt, pepper and seasoning.
- Make cuts in each potato. Put them in a baking dish. Season with salt and pepper and add seasoning. Drizzle with oil and bake for 10 minutes at 220 degrees.
- Put chilled bacon in each cut and pour lemon juice over it.
