How to serve potatoes in an elegant way: an idea for a budget dish
It is difficult to overestimate the versatility of potatoes because this is a product that will be relevant at any time of the year. It can be as simple as possible and very sophisticated. And this gratin is the second option. The vegetable is baked with lots of cream, mushrooms, and cheese – a fairly budget-friendly and satisfying combination that can be served even on a festive table.
The idea of cooking a delicious potato gratin was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Roksolana Herasymiv (roksolana.harasymiv).
Ingredients:
- potatoes – 6 pcs
- mushrooms – 6-8 pcs
- onion – 1 pc
- cream – 200 ml
- Ghee butter
- hard cheese – 60-80 g
- spices – (suneli hops, pepper, garlic)
- onion for decoration
Method of preparation:
1. Peel the potatoes, and put them on the fire to cook whole.
2. During this time, peel the mushrooms, cut them into layers, and fry the onion in half rings in oil.
3. Add the chopped mushrooms, and spices and simmer until tender (you can add water), when they become soft, add cream and simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
4. Cut the cooked potatoes into 2 mm thick rings and put them in a greased baking dish.
5. Put the mushrooms on top and pour the cream.
6. Sprinkle with cheese and put in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
