How to properly preserve sorrel for the winter: a recipe from Yevhan Klopotenko
Sorrel is a healthy, tasty product that is the main ingredient in borscht, salads, smoothies, and pie fillings. It can also be frozen and preserved for the winter.
Culinary expert Yevhen Klopotenko shared a recipe for delicious canned sorrel on his website, which can be stored for more than 6 months and added to various dishes.
Ingredients:
- sorrel - 300 g
- water - 150 ml
- salt - 1 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the sorrel well and dry it.
2. Cut it up.
3. Boil water in a small saucepan, add salt without a slide, and stir until dissolved.
4. Put the sorrel in the water and cook for 3 minutes. During this time, the sorrel should become a little duller, lose its bright green color, and shrink in size.
5. Put the cooked sorrel with the liquid in a jar and preserve.
6. Turn the jar upside down and leave it for a day, then put it in the refrigerator, basement, or cellar.
