How to properly preserve currant jam: Olha Sumska's secret
Currants are a very healthy and tasty berry that can be used to make delicious jam for the winter, pies, compotes, ice cream, or simply grind with sugar and store in the freezer all winter long. However not everyone knows how to do this correctly to preserve all the benefits and vitamins.
Actress and TV presenter Olha Sumska shared useful tips on her Instagram, as well as a life hack that will help avoid mold in jars of currant jam without cooking.
It's very simple: to make jam, you need to wash and grind fresh currants well with a blender, add sugar, and mix thoroughly. Then, pour the raw jam into sterile jars and, most importantly, make sure that it does not become moldy.
To do this, take parchment, cut out circles the diameter of the jar, dip them for 3-5 minutes in vodka, cognac, and whiskey, and put them in jars. Close the lid loosely and refrigerate.
This way the jam can be stored for a long time.
