How to prepare raspberries for the winter: three original ways
Raspberries are one of the healthiest and most delicious berries in the world. It is adored, inspired, and used to make extraordinary desserts. And to enjoy raspberries all year round, you should know the basic rules for harvesting them for the winter.
There are three effective and rather original ways to preserve raspberries in winter. A food blogger with the nickname yummy lera shared them on Instagram. She said that raspberries can be frozen whole, or they can be used to make sauce and iced tea.
Frozen raspberries
1. Put the raspberries on a flat surface covered with cling film at a distance from each other.
2. Freeze completely and store in slider bags!
Raspberry sauce
Ingredients
- Raspberries - 600 gr
- Sugar - 200 gr
- Mint - 20 gr
- Lime - 2 pcs
Method of preparation
1. Blend raspberries, sugar, mint, lime juice, and zest in a blender.
2. Put on medium heat and bring to a boil. Stir and cook for 10-15 minutes.
3. Rub through a sieve, cool, and freeze in slider bags.
4. To defrost – put in the refrigerator overnight, pour into convenient containers and serve with cheesecakes, waffles, pancakes, porridge, etc. ⠀
Frozen tea.
Ingredients
- Raspberries - 600 gr
- Orange - 2 pieces
- Basil - 20 gr
- Honey or sugar - 50 g
Method of preparation
1. Blend raspberries, orange, basil, and honey/sugar in a blender until desired consistency.
2. Pour into silicone molds and freeze.
3. Store in slider bags. ⠀
