How to prepare meat goulash for mashed potatoes, pasta and porridge
Goulash is an extremely tasty dish made with small pieces of meat in a thick gravy with spices. It is quite simple and affordable to prepare, as well as versatile, as goulash can be eaten with cereals, pasta, and even mashed potatoes.
Food blogger Maryna (marisha_recepti) shared a recipe for goulash with rice on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- meat - 700 g
- onion - 2 pcs
- tomato paste - 100 g
- flour - 15 g
- sugar - 15 g
- bay leaves - 2 pcs
- ground black pepper - 0.5 tsp.
- paprika - 1 tsp.
Rice for garnish:
- rice - 400 g
- water - 600 ml
- butter - 70 g
- salt - 1 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the meat and fry it in vegetable oil until the liquid evaporates.
2. Then add the chopped onion and fry until soft.
3. Add salt, pepper and paprika. Stir.
4. Add flour. Mix well.
5. Add tomato paste and fry for a few minutes.
6. Add water, sugar and bay leaves. Simmer under the lid for 30 minutes.
7. Meanwhile, cook rice. Melt butter in a frying pan, add the rice and fry for about 3 minutes.
8. Pour water, add salt and cook for 20-30 minutes.
