How to prepare Korean-style herring
If you want to cook herring in an unusual and tasty way, this recipe will help you do it. Accordingly, the fish is cooked in a special marinade with spices and onions. As a result, the herring is very piquant, with a slight sweet flavor and goes well with many dishes.
This Korean-style herring recipe was shared by food blogger Yana Bardych on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- herring fillet - 2 pcs.
- onion - 2 pcs.
- tomato paste - 2 tbsp.
- vegetable oil - 100 ml
- vinegar - 70 ml
- salt - 25 g
- allspice - 8 pcs.
- peppercorns - 10 pcs.
- coriander - 1 tsp.
- hot pepper - to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Clean the fish and cut it into pieces.
2. Mix oil with tomato paste, vinegar, salt, pepper, and coriander.
3. Bring the mixture to a boil, cook for another 1 minute and let cool.
4. Cut the onion into half rings.
5. Mix the marinade with the onion and let stand for 1 hour.
6. Put the onions and fish in the container in layers, alternating until you run out of ingredients. The last layer should be onion.
7. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
