How to prepare healthy homemade ketchup with plums and beets
Ketchup, which is an ingredient in many fast food dishes, can actually be healthy if you make it at home. And it's worth doing right now because the tomato season will soon be in full swing. The sauce is especially delicious when made from home-grown vegetables.

Ingredients:
- tomatoes - 3 kg
- onions - 0.5 kg
- plums - 0.25 g
- apples (sour) - 0.5 kg
- beets - 1 pc
- bell pepper - 0.5 kg
- black pepper - 10 pcs.
- allspice - 5 pcs.
- cloves - 2 pcs.
- red pepper - 1 tbsp (for the spicy version)
- sugar - 100 g
- salt - 1.5 tbsp
- cinnamon - 0.5 tsp
- vinegar 9% - 50 ml (optional)
Cooking method:
1. Mix chopped raw vegetables, fruit, peppers and cloves.
2. Put on medium heat and cook for 1.5 hours (uncovered).
3. Remove from heat and beat until smooth with a blender.
4. Rub the resulting mass through a sieve.
5. Add sugar, salt, and cinnamon to the mass. Boil over low heat without a lid for about an hour. Stir occasionally during the process.
6. Optionally, add vinegar 5 minutes before the end of the cooking process.
7. Pour the ketchup hot into sterilized jars.
8. Close with sterilized lids.
9. Wrap in a blanket and leave to cool completely.
