How to prepare cheese palianytsia in a pan: a budget alternative to bread
The most popular type of Ukrainian bakery product, palianytsia, can be eaten instead of bread and various rolls. The dough for palianytsia is made mostly with water, milk, sour cream, or yogurt. You can also make a dish with a filling - cheese, minced meat, meat or vegetables - or do without it.
Food blogger Olena (lenna_mazur) shared a recipe for cheese palianytsia on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- flour - 300 g
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp.
- thick yogurt - 250 g
- mozzarella (for the filling) - 200 g
Method of preparation:
1. To prepare the dough, mix the dry ingredients.
2. Add yogurt. Mix until smooth and leave the dough for 30 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, grate the cheese for the filling.
4. Divide the dough into 8 pieces. Roll out each piece into a thin circle.
5. Add the filling. Gather all the sides of the circle to the center, pinch and roll out thinly again.
6. Fry on each side for 3 minutes.
