How to pickle lard so that it is soft: a simple method
Lard is a tasty, hearty traditional Ukrainian product that can be eaten in any form: raw, baked, fried, boiled, and added to various dishes. If you want to cook lard quickly and without any hassle, the best way is to simply pickle it. This dish is an ideal appetizer for a festive table, as well as a great addition to the daily menu.
Food blogger Svitlana with the nickname my_griadka.ua shared a recipe that will allow you to pickle lard deliciously on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- fresh lard
- salt, pepper
- garlic
- onion
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the lard into medium-sized pieces.
2. Mix salt with pepper. Roll the lard in the resulting mixture on all sides.
3. Pass the garlic through a press and rub the lard with it on all sides.
4. Cut onion into half rings.
5. Put the lard in the jar, alternating with the onion. Close the lid and store in the refrigerator.
