How to pickle cucumbers for the winter deliciously: a proven recipe for 4-liter jars
Canning is an activity that millions of housewives in every corner of Ukraine do every summer. The most popular food for canning is, of course, cucumbers. As a result, you will have incredibly tasty, crispy and flavorful vegetables on the table , which are perfect as an appetizer, even in the coldest winter.
Every housewife has her own recipe for canning cucumbers. But culinary expert Kostyantyn Hrubych shared a recipe that is used in the village of Bohdanivka in Kyiv region, on Facebook. He says that this type of winter preserves will definitely appeal to everyone.
Ingredients for a 4-liter jar
- cucumbers
- bay leaf
- peppercorns
- allspice pepper
- horseradish leaves
- currant leaves
- dill
- garlic - a few cloves
- salt - 100 g
Method of preparation
1. Put all the ingredients on the bottom of a clean jar except for salt. Put as much horseradish and currant leaves as possible. This will make the cucumbers crispy.
2. Add thoroughly washed cucumbers.
3. Add salt directly to the jar.
4. Pour ice water over the cucumbers to the top of the jar.
5. Top the cucumbers with another horseradish leaf.
6. Close the jar with a plastic lid and put it in the cellar.
