How to open champagne bottle correctly to avoid exploding: three golden rules
Prosecco, champagne, or sparkling wine should be opened correctly. Otherwise, you run the risk of being drenched in the drink from head to toe and damaging the property in the room with cork.
To prevent this from happening, you should know three golden rules, following which champagne and other drinks of this type will never spill. Wine connoisseur Tom Gilby shared these rules on TikTok.
Three golden rules for opening champagne
1. The first thing to do is to remove the foil from the bottle, which prevents the cork from opening.
2. Next, unscrew the muselet. It is a metal "cage" that is designed to hold the cork inside the bottle. Unscrew its tail, but do not remove from the cork. Otherwise, there is a risk that the champagne will explode.
3. Wrap your hand around the muselet and remove it from the bottle. It is extremely important that all these manipulations are carried out only when the bottle of champagne, prosecco or sparkling wine is at an angle of 45 degrees.
