How to marinate lard tasty and fast: the easiest way

Lard is a delicious, hearty traditional Ukrainian product that can be eaten in any form: raw, baked, fried, boiled, and added to various dishes. Most often, lard is marinated and salted with marinade, brine, or just spices.

Food blogger Maria Hnativ (maria_gnativ_) shared a recipe for pickled lard with onions and bell peppers on her Instagram page, which can be eaten in 2 hours. According to this recipe, it is very spicy and has a slight sourness.

Ingredients:

  • salted lard - 400 g
  • green onions - 1 pc
  • herbs
  • ground black pepper
  • bell pepper
  • vinegar - 3 tbsp.

Method of preparation:

1. Cut the lard into thin slices.

2. Chop the onion and greens, chop the bell pepper.

3. Add vegetables and spices to the lard. Mix thoroughly.

4. Leave the lard to marinate for 2 hours.
