How to make thin pizza dough at home: an easy way
Thin and crispy pizza dough is a problem for many housewives. The dish often looks more like a pie. But it is also possible to make pizza on a thin dough at home, just like in restaurants. It is worth using some simple life hacks.
Amateur chef Serhii Dzhurenko shared a simple idea for making the perfect pizza dough on his website.
The most important secrets of thin dough from Serhii:
- For the perfect texture, the dough should not be allowed to rise.
- After rolling it out, pierce it with a fork.
- Grease the base with sauce, put the filling, and bake in the oven.
Ingredients:
- High-grade wheat flour - 2 cups (260 g)
- Fast yeast - 5 g
- Salt - 1/3 tsp
- Sugar - 2 tsp.
- Olive oil - 2-3 tbsp.

In Italy, they use durum wheat flour. In Ukraine, this product is rare, so you can replace it with whole wheat flour or rye flour ground with the shell. A glass of flour contains 130 g, as confirmed by cookbooks. For a 34-cm diameter pizza, about 250 grams of flour is enough – two almost full glasses.
Method of preparation:
- Sift the flour.
- Add yeast, salt, and sugar.
- Stir everything evenly with a fork.
- Pour 160-170 ml of plain water into a glass.
- Put the glass of water in the microwave for 10-12 seconds to heat it up a little. Add 2-3 tbsp of olive oil to the water.
- Stir, pour the water into the mixture, and stir until smooth.
- Knead the dough – it will be a little sticky and very soft.
- Shape the dough into a ball, transfer the dough to a small clean, and dry bowl, and cover with a clean cloth napkin. The consistency of the dough is soft and elastic, very well stretched.
- Put the dough in a warm place for 40-45 minutes.
- After the dough has risen, stretch it by 5-7 mm with your hands.
- Form the edges from the edges.
- Leave the dough to rise.
- Make pricks with a fork, otherwise, it will rise in a dome when steamed.
- Put your favorite filling.
