How to make thick and delicious apricot jam: 3 unusual options
Summer is the best time to make winter preserves because there are so many healthy fruits and berries that can be a great base for aromatic and delicious jam. If you want to give the usual jam a new flavor, you can safely add new ingredients, such as cinnamon, citrus fruits, and nuts.

1. Apricot jam with walnuts
Ingredients:
- apricots - 500 g
- sugar - 300 g
- walnuts - 100 g
Method of preparation:
- Wash the apricots, and remove the pits.
- Cut the slices in half, cover with sugar, and leave for 60 minutes to let the fruit juice out.
- Chop the nuts and toast them in a dry frying pan.
- Put the cooked apricots in a saucepan, bring to a boil, stir, and skim off the foam.
- Add the nuts, stir, and cook for about 5-10 minutes.
- Pour into sterile jars, quickly preserve, and turn the jars upside down.
- Cover with a warm blanket or towel, let cool completely, and transfer to a cool, dark place.
2. Apricot and orange jam
Ingredients:
- apricots - 1 kg
- oranges - 1-2 pcs.
- sugar - 800 g
Method of preparation:
- Wash the apricots, and remove the pits.
- Fill the slices with sugar and leave them for 10 hours to let the juice flow well.
- After that, wash the oranges, cut them into large pieces, and blend them in a blender until smooth.
- After 10 hours, put the apricots in a saucepan, add the mashed oranges, bring to a boil, and cook for about 15-20 minutes.
- Immediately pour the hot jam into sterile jars and preserve.
- Turn the jars upside down, cover them with a warm towel, let them cool completely, and put them in a cool, dark place.
3. Apricot jam with almonds
Ingredients:
- apricots - 3 kg
- almonds - 400 g
- sugar - 2 kg
- vanilla sugar - 20 g
- water - 400 ml
Method of preparation:
- Wash the apricots, divide them into slices, and remove the pits.
- Mix the apricots with almonds, sprinkle with vanilla sugar, and stir.
- Syrup: boil water in a saucepan, add sugar, and cook for about 10 minutes.
- Pour the hot syrup over the apricots and almonds, put on the fire, bring to a boil, turn off, cool them completely, and do this 5-6 times.
- Afterward, preserve it, and be sure to move the jars of jam to a dark, cool place.
