How to make red currant jam: you only need 2 ingredients

The most practical way to prepare red currants is to make jam. This is because the berry is very small and very easy to grind into jam. The product has a lot of nutrients and the following cooking technology preserves them all.

The idea of making red currant jam was shared by Nadiya Tymkiv on the Facebook page "Cakes and Recipes from Lilia Tsvit".

Ingredients:

  • red currants - 1 kg
  • sugar - 1 kg

Method of preparation:

1. Sort the red currants, and rinse them (do not remove the green tails).

2. Put in a saucepan, cover with sugar, mix well, grind to make the berries juice.

3. Put on high heat, and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

4. From the moment of boiling, cook for 8 minutes (stir constantly).

5. Remove from heat and grind hot through a sieve.

6. Pour into dry, sterilized jars.

7. Leave to cool completely, do not close the lids.

8. When cool, tighten the lids.

9. Do not throw away the cake that remains after grinding.

10. It can be used to make compote (if there is a lot of cake, then freeze it).
