How to make real bread kvass at home: the simplest technology
Bread kvass is considered to be the most delicious, especially if it is made at home. The drink perfectly quenches thirst, refreshes and has a pleasant aroma. Bubbles are formed by the fermentation of yeast.
The idea of making homemade bread kvass was published on the Instagram page of a food blogger with the nickname treskablog. You will need rye bread.
Ingredients for 5 liters:
- rye bread - 500 g
- raisins - 100 g
- sugar - 200 g
- dry yeast - 1 tsp
- water - 4 liters
Method of preparation:
1. Dry the bread either in the oven or in the toaster, or cut it into pieces and leave it to dry on its own.
2. Dissolve yeast and 50 g of sugar in warm water.
3. After 5 minutes, put the bread, raisins, yeast mixture, and sugar in a pan.
4. Pour water over everything (bottled water, no need to boil).
5. Close the pot with a lid (if it is a jar, cover with a lid).
6. Put in a warm but not sunny place.
7. Depending on the weather, kvass will be ready in 3-5 days. Strain the kvass but leave the fermented pulp.
