There is a wonderful product that is famous for its truly medicinal properties - pine cones - which you can use to make delicious jam for the winter.

Method No. 1

Ingredients:

  • pine cones - 500 g
  • sugar - 800 g
  • water - 800 ml
  • lemon juice - 1 tbsp

Method of preparation:

  1. Sort out the cones so that there are no twigs, wash and cover with water for 3-4 hours to remove the bitterness and all the ants that could live there.
  2. After the time has elapsed, you can start cooking.
  3. Put the cones in a saucepan, cover with water, add sugar, stir and put on medium heat. Bring to a boil and cook for another 10 minutes, remove from heat, cover with a towel and let it cool completely to infuse.
  4. After that, repeat this procedure 5 more times.
  5. After the 6th time, add lemon juice to the finished hot jam, mix thoroughly, strain the cooled jam through a sieve and cheesecloth, put in sterile jars and close with lids.

It is best to store this jam in a dark, cool place, with a maximum shelf life of 2 years.

Method No. 2 without boiling

Ingredients:

  • pine cones - 500 g
  • sugar - 800 g

Method of preparation:

  1. Wash the cones. You can soak them in water for a couple of hours.
  2. Then cut into 4 pieces, put in a jar in layers and sprinkle with sugar. Close the lid and shake well.
  3. Afterwards, be sure to remove the lid and cover the jar with cheesecloth.
  4. Move the jar to a cool, dark place for 3-4 days, shaking it periodically.
  5. After the time has elapsed, the jam in the jar will be completely dissolved and must be filtered through cheesecloth.
  6. Be sure to refrigerate the finished product.

You need to eat it in moderation - 1-2 dessert spoons in the morning or evening for adults, for children - 1-2 teaspoons.
