Philadelphia Cream Cheese is a versatile addition to rolls, pancakes, and various snacks. The product has a savory creamy flavor and goes well with a variety of ingredients. And if you used to taste it only in restaurants or buy it in stores, now you can easily make it at home. You only need 3 ingredients.

Milk for making cheese

Ingredients:

  • low-fat milk – 8 cups
  • lemon juice – 5 tbsp
  • salt – 0.5 tsp

You will also need cheesecloth, a fine sieve, a large bowl, and a food processor/blender.

Adding lemon juice

Method of preparation:

1. Pour milk into a saucepan, and bring it to a boil over medium to high heat.

2. Add lemon juice before the curd forms.

3. As soon as the milk begins to boil, turn off the heat to prevent lumps from forming.

4. Set the mass aside.

5. Pour into a sieve, and cover with cheesecloth.

6. Let the mixture brew for 10 minutes.

7. Squeeze the mass in cheesecloth.

8. After the curd has formed, pour the mixture through a sieve and cover with cheesecloth.

9. Strain the remaining whey into a large bowl.

Whipping cottage cheese in a blender

10. Carefully squeeze out the curd.

11. Place in a blender or food processor and add 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

12. Blend for one to two minutes.

Ready-made Philadelphia cream cheese

13. Thanks to lemon juice and salt, the cheese goes well with bread.
