How to make pancakes in a new way: a secret from Olha Matvii
Pancakes are a very easy-to-make dish that can be prepared with a variety of fillings, ranging from sweet to berry, cheese, fruit, and savoury. The most important thing when making them is to make a good dough, as the taste and quality of the dish depends on it.
Olha Matvii, a cook and popular Ukrainian food blogger, shared a recipe for delicious custard pancakes on her YouTube channel, which will always turn out well if you follow the recipe (to watch the video, scroll to the end).
A tip from the chef:
To make the pancakes flavorful and even softer, brush them with melted butter.
Ingredients:
- Milk - 1 cup
- Water - 1 cup
- Wheat flour - 1 cup
- Eggs - 2 pcs.
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- Salt - 0.5 tsp
- Sugar - 70 g
- Butter - 30 g
Method of preparation:
1. Beat the eggs with a mixer.
2. Add a pinch of salt and continue whisking, then add sugar a little at a time.
3. Then pour in room temperature milk and mix well.
4. Sift the flour, preferably twice, and add to the milk and egg mixture, mixing gently.
5. Next, pour the vegetable oil and hot water into the dough, and mix everything very quickly to make the dough homogeneous.
6. Pour the remaining oil into the dough and beat the dough well again.
7. Fry the pancakes, be sure to grease each one with butter.
Pancakes can be served with various fillings to suit your taste.
