It's great to start your morning with something healthy and something that will give your body a boost of vigor and energy for the whole day. One of these products is granola, which contains nuts, candied fruits, seeds, dried fruits, oatmeal, and sometimes even honey or natural syrups.
Nutritionist Svitlana Fus, on her Instagram page, offered her own dietary and very healthy version of granola, which is not difficult to prepare at home.
For homemade oatmeal granola with nuts and dried fruits you will need:
- oatmeal – 2 cups;
- mix of nuts and seeds – 1 cup;
- dried fruits – 1 cup;
- liquid honey – 3 tbsp;
- orange juice or water – 3-4 tbsp;
- olive or sunflower oil – 2 tbsp.
Method of preparation:
- Coarsely chop the nuts and mix in a bowl with the oatmeal. Optionally, you can add a few tablespoons of seeds;
- Combine honey, orange juice, and oil in a cup;
- Add the liquid mixture to the bowl of oatmeal and mix well. The mixture will be slightly moist.
- Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper;
- Spread the granola in an even layer and place in a preheated 160°C oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown;
- Stir the granola every 5 minutes to ensure that it is baked evenly. Add washed and dried dried fruits 10 minutes before the end of cooking;
- Take out the granola, cool it completely, and pour it into a tightly closed jar or container.
Fus recommends making granola at home, in which case you will be sure of the safety of the product.
