How to make homemade cherry liqueur: we share the simplest technology

Seasonal berries are not only fillings for various baked goods or ingredients for desserts, but also a great base for making homemade alcoholic beverages. Cherries are ideal for this because you can use not only the fruit itself but also the leaves. The result is a flavorful liqueur.

The idea of making homemade cherry liqueur was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Irina (ira_momm).

Ingredients:

  • pitted cherries - 500 g
  • cherry leaves - 100 pcs
  • vodka - 500 ml
  • water - 500 ml
  • citric acid - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 500 g

Cooking method:

1. Wash the cherry leaves together with the pitted cherries, and cook over low heat for 15 minutes after boiling. Leave to cool completely. Then strain.

2. Add sugar and citric acid to the cherry broth and stir well to dissolve everything. Add vodka at the end.

3. Pour the liquor into a glass jar, close with a nylon lid, and put in a dark place for 3 months to infuse.
