How to make herring butter: a budget-friendly spread in 5 minutes
Herring fillets are an ideal base for making budget-friendly, tasty and quick bread spreads. Their consistency resembles butter, which can also be used as a sauce for baked or fried potatoes and even meat.
Food blogger Victoria Chaikovska with the nickname vica.chaikovskaya shared a recipe for herring butter on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- butter - 100 g
- herring - 1 fillet
- eggs - 1 pc
- lemon juice - a few drops
- dill
- mustard - 0.5 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Put boiled egg, soft butter, and herring in a blender and beat until smooth.
2. Add a few drops of lemon juice, mustard and dill to the mixture. Beat again.
3. Spread the finished butter on bread or serve with baked potatoes.
