How to make eggplant paste: an alternative to spreading on bread
Eggplant pate is a great budget alternative to liver and meat pate, as well as the usual spreads. The paste is even easier and faster to prepare than caviar. But it is just as versatile: it is suitable for sandwiches, bread, and toast.
Food blogger Natalie (food_nataly) shared a recipe for a delicious eggplant pate on her Instagram page, which can be perfectly combined with toast and croutons.
Ingredients:
- eggplant - 1 pc
- walnuts - 70 g
- garlic
- herbs and salt
Method of preparation:
1. Put the garlic and eggplant in a baking dish, pour over the oil, and bake at 200 degrees for 30 minutes.
2. Peel the finished eggplant and garlic.
3. Put the vegetables, nuts, herbs, and salt in a blender. Blend until smooth.
4. Pate is best served with toasted bread.
