Dressed herring salad is a very popular and easy-to-prepare dish. It is based on vegetables, herring and sauce, most often mayonnaise. But it is often mayonnaise that spoils a healthy salad. But it can be easily replaced with yogurt or sour cream.
Nutritionist Svitlana Fus shared on Instagram useful tips on how to cook Dressed herring in a new way to make the dish as healthy as possible.
The expert advises to make homemade mayonnaise for the salad, but when cooking, remember not to add a lot of oil to the sauce!
The nutritionist also recommends picking lettuce properly so that it is not greasy
"After you grate the vegetables for this salad - carrots, beets and potatoes - take your time putting them in layers on the herring. In a separate bowl, mix each of these ingredients well with one spoonful of mayonnaise. Then assemble the salad, layering it. This way, the vegetables will be saturated with the sauce, and there will be less of it in the salad," explained Fuss.
