How to make delicious Italian flatbread piadina at home: main secrets
Piadina is a thin Italian flatbread similar to pita bread. Historians say that it was cooked in the days of Ancient Rome. Traditionally, it is used to wrap vegetables and meat, but it can also be eaten just like bread, without filling.
FoodOboz editorial team learned how to make it from Alex Yakutov, chef and expert of the reality TV show "On Knives".
Ingredients:
- 360 ml of warm water
- 1 tsp. of dry yeast
- 0.5 tsp of sugar
- 550 g of flour
- 3 tbsp. of oil
- sea salt - to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Mix warm water with yeast.
2. In a separate container, combine salt, flour and sugar. Mix everything well.
3. Pour the water with yeast over the dry ingredients.
4. Add oil and start kneading the dough.
5. Then put the dough in a warm place for an hour. Cover with a towel.
6. When the dough has risen, roll out thin round cakes. Put it in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, and bake until done.
