How to make delicious homemade pumpkin jam for the winter: add one special ingredient
Pumpkin is such a versatile product that it can even be used to make delicious homemade jam. It is perfectly preserved for the winter, suitable for filling baked goods, or can simply be eaten with a spoon. For a special flavor, you just need to add one simple ingredient.
The idea of making pumpkin jam for the winter was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Olena Diachenko. The special ingredient to add to the jam is an orange.
Ingredients:
- pumpkin – 1.5 kg.
- sugar – 900 g
- orange – 2 pcs.
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the pumpkin into small cubes.
2. Pour into a saucepan in which the jam will be cooked.
3. Add the orange, cut into thin slices, add sugar and mix thoroughly.
4. Leave for 30-40 minutes to let the pumpkin and orange juice out.
5. Put on medium heat and after boiling cook for another 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6. Then turn off the heat, cover, and leave to cool completely.
7. Then boil again for 40 minutes and leave to cool.
8. For the third time, boil for just 20 minutes.
9. Pour the still-hot jam into sterilized jars and cover them with sterilized lids.
10. Roll up, turn over, cover with a towel and leave.
